# God Is a Woman!

And I’m Gonna Prove It

![God Is a Woman — Golden Age mother Creator to Dark Age male punisher](https://paradigmthreat.net/influence/religion/god-is-a-woman.png)

I’m writing a book called ***The Third Story***. It tells the full story of Earth and the other planets up until the modern day. This is a simplified version of that story, with the extra context and citations filled in. I’m essentially going to narrate it straight: **God is a woman.**

## Warm darkness

The story of Earth starts exactly the same as the stories of any life form that has ever been born on Earth. A long-lasting period of warm darkness. Full sustenance. No conflict. Very little light, if any. It’s sort of like a seed that cannot die and is waiting to be born.

![Golden Age remembered — Bosch garden as creation memory](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/saturn/golden_age_hieronimus_bosch.jpg)

Every mammal still lives that chapter in the womb. The old sky stories describe the same thing: a long dark time before day and night as we know them, before people started arguing about who was watching. In the Saturnian timeline, Earth lived that chapter too. More on the field and womb side is in [Circle of Life](https://paradigmthreat.net/science/biology/circle-of-life-and-how-it-began.md) and the [chronology hub](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/page.md). Before anyone argued about God, there was gestation.

## The moment of light

Then, of course, the moment of light — when all of the humans and animals of creation were filled with that same energy that linked the planets into the Saturnian Golden Age. That gave them the notion to question their existence and to ask why and what.

![Absu enclosure — Golden Age plasma layers](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/saturn/golden_age_absu.jpg)

For this reason, human history starts at the beginning of the Golden Age, with humanity staring up at the object that just created them, using very simple phonetics like **baal** and **maal**. This is when languages were first being formed. People looked up in the sky and basically saw this Creator. They didn’t need a finished language first. They needed the light and a mouth that could copy the sound.

## The Creator was female

The further you look back in time by analyzing Indigenous records as they were before they were redacted, the more you find that many records suggest the Creator was some kind of female, capable of creation, rather than the male personality that we’ve come to understand in our lifetime.

In fact, saying that God is a female at this point, you’d probably get laughed at by the majority of people on Earth. But that’s exactly what I’m saying.

A lot of that laugh comes from redaction. After mission schools, museum captions, and monotheist books get done with the old records, the mother gets filed as a “fertility goddess,” some local specialty, while the father keeps the title Creator. Go back before that filter and creation itself was her job.

You don’t have to dig far. Indigenous and pre-redaction religions all over the map remember a female Creator — not a male boss with a fertility goddess underneath.

The Kogi of Colombia’s Sierra Nevada name Haba Gaulcovang, the Great Mother, as the supreme deity who creates the universe by concentrating her thought — Gerardo Reichel-Dolmatoff’s ethnography is the usual cite. Shawnee tradition names Kuhkoomtheyna, Our Grandmother, as the supreme Creator who shaped the earth; Shawnee speakers have kept calling her Creator / Author of Life / First Woman, not a junior goddess under a male Great Spirit. Andean religion keeps Mama Pacha / Pachamama as creator and sustainer of living order, not a decorative earth-spirit. Chinese memory pairs Fu-Xi with Nüwa, the female creator who repairs and people the world. Finnish Kalevala memory has Ilmatar, the feminine cosmic creator over the waters. Pawnee tradition on the American plains names cupiritta-ka — Venus — as mother of the Skiri, and ties her union with the Mars warrior to Creation itself ([common questions](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/common-questions.md)). The *Tao Te Ching* is blunt in another register: being is the mother of the ten thousand things. A wider cross-tradition survey is in [creation interpretations across religions](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/investigations/creation-event-interpretations.md), and the Saturnian myth index already catalogs Nüwa, Triple Goddesses, and related mother-creator parallels.

Israel’s archaeology still fights over Asherah next to Yahweh. Inscriptions from Kuntillet Ajrud and Khirbet el-Qom talk about Yahweh and his asherah. Some scholars say goddess. Some say a sacred pole. Either way, she was loud enough that later editors turned her into lumber and “grove” translations — same move as demoting every other mother Creator into “local fertility.”

In the Saturnian chronology, Saturn is the mother principle — the receiving body, the womb side of planetary generation — and the Sun is the father principle. That’s also in [Circle of Life](https://paradigmthreat.net/science/biology/circle-of-life-and-how-it-began.md). Saturn also shows up as Kronos eating his children. Same planet. Different face of the same memory: mother in the Golden Age, devourer when the age ended. The mother didn’t leave. The story about her got rewritten.

The Creator must have been capable of creation, and only women are. You can’t really be a man unless you accept that. I think a lot of people who ran the religions for the last couple centuries really were not ‘real’ men, because their church didn’t allow them to be.

## Baal became Maal

So what was it that changed the gender of God?

Honestly, I think it was the Dark Age, when Baal went and became Maal.

![Kronos devouring — Golden Age ends](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/saturn/golden_age_ends_kronos_devours.jpg)

In Saturnian cosmology and in most Bibles, the good creator god kept changing into the bad punishing god. Baal was certainly the name of Saturn at one point. In North Africa, Baal Hammon got equated with Roman Saturn. Catastrophist and Saturnian writers already put Baal among the names for that polar high god. And **mal** means bad — Latin *malus*, French *mal*, the English prefix in malpractice and malfunction.

So all you gotta do is connect those two words together and assume very early phonetics. I think the simplest explanation is that baal, or the word ball used in ballerina and balance and all kinds of critical terms that don’t seem to have to do with each other, all trace back to this one Creator god that balanced out the Golden Age. Then in the Dark Age he disappeared and people thought he was punishing everyone. So they started using a different name, something that later became Maal, which means bad.

Dictionary etymology will say those English words come from different roots, and that *mal-* does not come from Canaanite Baal. Fine. The dictionaries also skip that biblical writers already poisoned Baal’s name on purpose — swapping Baal for *bosheth*, “shame,” in personal names and prophetic memory. Turning the old lord-word into a bad word is already on the record. Extending that into *mal* and the ball/balance family is my synthesis. The longer audit is in the [companion investigation](https://paradigmthreat.net/influence/religion/investigations/god-is-a-woman-creator-gender-redaction-investigation.md).

Suddenly, those that praised the Creator had to justify why everything was happening. That everyone was being punished for some reason. They came up with stories like, we ate the forbidden fruit. Otherwise, something was disrupted on high, and it was ruined for the entire species. That’s Eden-talk after paradise ends. The same garden-to-toil pattern shows up across Abrahamic witnesses in the creation survey linked above.

![Golden Age ends in a Great Deluge](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/saturn/golden_age_ends_great_deluge.jpg)

## Love versus fear

So it’s actually very easy to understand that the One World Religion of the Golden Age would splinter in the Dark Age. Specifically between those who still held on to the love of the Golden Age, and those who were falling into the fear of the Dark Age.

Love kept the old memory: enclosure, abundance, the mother who does not abandon the child even when the child cannot see her. Fear kept the new weather: famine, thunder, exile, the sense that somebody upstairs was angry and that the species had earned it. Same planet. Same ruined sky. Two religions growing out of one trauma.

As a result of that, I think it was hard for anyone, man or woman, to imagine that a punishing Creator God was still female. When the compassion seemed to be gone. A mother who feeds in the dark is one memory. A sky that floods, burns, and starves is another. Under fear, people reach for a judge, a king, a voice that sounds like the men who already held the weapons. Once the sermons needed a punisher, the mother got demoted to Mary, to Wisdom, to a pole in the temple courtyard — anything except the throne.

## Exodus and the pieces

Towards the end of the Dark Age, that one Creator God who had gone missing reappeared in another form. The Old Testament remembers the reign of a very active and influential god during the Exodus story, one that intervened directly in human affairs and caused world cataclysm.

![Exodus — intervening sky power](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/saturn/exodus.jpg)

So in this moment in history, the world might have been unified in the notion that the creator of your god was always a punishing male character, rather than the good creator remembered in the Golden Age. Dating and identity get argued elsewhere — Velikovsky’s Venus Passover, Exodus and promised-land threads, electrical catastrophe readings. What matters in this story is the mood of that god: active, male, punishing, world-breaking.

But then later, this new form of the god seemed to fall apart into pieces, so says the Egyptian legend of Osiris cut up and scattered by Set. And afterwards I think there was sort of a great confusion. Temples still named the dead god. Priests still collected the offerings. The sky no longer showed the living body those rites were built for. The main question was, why would anyone worship anything that’s no longer visible? And monotheism fell into ruin until it would reappear during the Crusades. Different centuries do different things with that word “Crusade” — one layer breaks Church monopoly toward many gods; another installs austere reconquest. Don’t mash them into one event. The [Mars hub](https://paradigmthreat.net/cosmos/mars/page.md) and [chronology hub](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/page.md) keep those layers separate.

## The sun years

And during this sort of not-too-well-recorded period of freedom, when humanity spread all over the world under the new god, the sun, we became largely sun-worshippers. It was again possible for everyone to remember, or to forget, to misremember the original creator god as a woman, and instead masculine names were given to the sun. Helios. Sol. Shamash in later filing. Christ remembered as the Sun in the lanes this chronology already keeps.

Later, the monotheists would cause incursions around the world, converting or killing everyone into monotheism, at which point the sun god was forgotten and became just the sun, its abundance and its revolution denied as even ever happened. The [chronology hub](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/page.md) already tracks solar religion after the planet-god ages, and later campaigns that turned that visible god back into “just astronomy.” The monotheists got to define god however they wanted. They decided to put all of the authority into the male members of their family and to discourage women from having knowledge or power. Invisible God plus male clergy is a clean setup: no living sky to check the sermon against, and half the species told to stay out of the library.

## Read the Mishnah

The Mishnah — early rabbinic law compiled around 200 CE. In *Seder Nashim*, the Order of Women, marriage, divorce, vows, and suspicion already run around male authority. And in [Mishnah Sotah 3:4](https://www.sefaria.org/Mishnah_Sotah.3.4), after Ben Azzai says a man should teach his daughter Torah, Rabbi Eliezer answers: anyone who teaches his daughter Torah is teaching her promiscuity (*tiflut*).

That line did not invent every patriarchy on Earth. It shows the mechanism in plain court Hebrew: knowledge for daughters framed as danger; male gatekeeping framed as piety. Ben Azzai’s opposite opinion is still in the same mishnah, so the fight was live. Eliezer’s side is the one later piety liked to remember. And that is the true reason why god was forgotten as a woman.

## Mama, be with me

But for those people of any religion who still believe that god has always been on their side and they yell that name when they’re in distress, they don’t do so because the church told them that god was a man. They do so because they remember that god was the mother, and this is how every life form always acts towards its mother.

I got this notion from watching a *Silent Hill* movie. As gruesome as it is, the woman who gets burned says, **“Mama, be with me.”** The same film also says, **“Mother is God in the eyes of a child.”**

So that’s the real nature of praising God. The mother that you always want to be there, even at a great distance, or even after death. And the belief that the mother actually cannot die, and will always exist, long after we’re gone.

## Framing and limits

**Prisca sapientia:** This article assumes [**prisca sapientia**](https://paradigmthreat.net/docs/PRISCA_SAPIENTIA.md) — ancients held profound understanding of universe, nature, and theology later lost or degraded. Modern consensus is not default truth; the linked investigation tiers specific claims.

Hard thesis in the body. Documented anchors include feminine supreme-creator ethnography, Taoist mother language, Asherah debate, Baal–Saturn syncretism, biblical Baal→shame pejoration, Latin *mal-* = bad, Mishnah *Sotah* 3:4, and the *Silent Hill* (2006) mother lines. The Baal→mal sound-bridge and the ball/balance/ballerina family as one Golden Age root are my synthesis — open against handbook etymology. “Only women create” is a philosophical claim here, not a lab result. Osiris “pieces” and Crusade-era monotheism are story-scale summaries; incompatible mappings stay separated in the linked investigation. Critiquing patriarchal legal texts is not a license to monolith any living people — see the [working definition of antisemitism](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/investigations/paradigm-threat-working-definition-antisemitism.md).
