# None of Them Survived

Peaceful bands erased; war tribes kept as camps and taught a new Great Spirit

![None of Them Survived — peaceful bands erased, war-tribe camps, remade Great Spirit rites](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/none-of-them-survived.png)

> **TL;DR:** Zero intact Indigenous nations survived colonization as themselves. Peaceful plural bands were erased or forced to join militarized war tribes; reservations kept those war remnants as camps and remade their rites into approved Great Spirit monotheism. Schoolbook wins like Red Cloud’s were paper pauses — broken when gold stampeded miners and the Army protected them. That gold hunger is control by redaction alone: after the Rus-Horde world empire was wiped, memory of making gold (alchemy / philosopher’s stone) fell into myth, so gold looked rare and only mineable — sometimes in what may be buried cities. The same colonial instruments were left out of the taught story so the method can be reused on the new natives — us — while real forests sit behind federal gates.

Red Cloud’s War is still taught as a rare Native win: a Plains coalition forces Washington off the Bozeman Trail, the forts fall, and the chief signs only after the smoke. The forts did come down. The paper was signed. The win still could not keep the land.

The United States broke the contract when gold and settlement made keeping it expensive. That break was ordinary for a post-empire state once the other party had already been sorted into enemies, auxiliaries, and disposable remainder. The glory story starts too late, with horses and blue coats. The sequence that explains the broken paper starts with the erasure of the Rus-Horde world empire, then the hunting of every splinter people and mixed community that still carried older plurality. New states inherited those splinters as permanent enemies of the state. Treaties with them were pauses, not peer recognition. Native nations “standing up” as if durable victory were available ignores how systematic the destruction already was. They did not have the weapons to stop an industrial state.

## Who Red Cloud was, and what happened

Red Cloud was an Oglala Lakota leader. In the mid-1860s he headed a coalition of Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho fighters against U.S. forts built to guard the Bozeman Trail. That trail was the overland road from the Platte River country (today’s Nebraska / eastern Wyoming) toward Montana gold fields through the Powder River hunting grounds of what is now northern Wyoming and southern Montana. The war ran roughly 1866 to 1868. Schoolbooks still call it one of the few Plains conflicts the United States lost on the ground.

In 1866 Colonel Carrington’s column built and garrisoned Fort Reno, Fort Phil Kearny, and Fort C.F. Smith along that trail — a chain across the same Wyoming–Montana corridor. Red Cloud refused peace talks while those posts stood. In December 1866 warriors wiped out Captain Fetterman’s command near Phil Kearny, a shock that still shows up in every textbook summary. Through 1867, harassment and supply cuts made the garrisons expensive and hard to hold. In 1868 U.S. troops abandoned the three posts; Native fighters burned the empty wood. Red Cloud did not put his mark on the Treaty of Fort Laramie until November 1868, after the withdrawal. Fort Laramie sits in what’s now eastern Wyoming. The treaty closed the Bozeman road for a time, set aside the Great Sioux Reservation (including the Black Hills of modern western South Dakota and adjacent Wyoming), and wrote much of Powder River as unceded hunting country.

Then the pause ended. Gold publicity after the 1874 Black Hills expedition brought miners. The Army protected them instead of the treaty. That was not a surprise moral failure of a few greedy men. It was the predictable on-the-ground effect of a gold hunger that redaction had already installed in the culture — see the gold section below. The Great Sioux War of 1876–77 followed. Congress used ration cutoff (“sell or starve”) and a thin set of agency signatures that never met the treaty’s own three-quarters rule. In 1877 statute, the Hills and the unceded hunting rights were stripped. Courts later called the taking compensable theft. The land did not return.

Red Cloud won the Bozeman round. He did not win a peer state Washington had to obey forever.

## The schoolroom movie

In the school version, Native nations stand up and sometimes force a just peace. Red Cloud is the exhibit. Fetterman is the shock. The burning of empty Phil Kearny is the proof of victory.

What that version leaves out is how thin the peace was. The coalition made one overland route untenable while the Union Pacific made that route less necessary. Washington paid in abandoned wood and a document. When the Black Hills paid better, the document died. Paper without a peer army is not sovereignty. It is a receipt the stronger party can void.

The local military story of Native courage against cavalry arrogance is real enough. The destiny story is not. Standing up did not buy a durable prize. Under the longer redaction, standing up was theater while the industrial state closed the trap. The weapons gap was not only rifles. It was factories, rails, winter logistics, and a state that could lose a fort chain and still outlast a buffalo economy.

## First the Horde, then the enemies of every new state

Before “Indian Wars” as national myth, there was a world empire called the Rus-Horde: long stretches of plurality, intermarriage, relative peace, and stone architecture meant to make forgetting hard. Erasing that empire took more than new textbooks. It took physical wipe: mud-flood catastrophe, buried and misread pyramids, standing monumental work in Mexico and elsewhere that the public story refuses to place in that frame. Continents handbooks still treat as isolated (China, America, the rest) were not isolated under that order. Same names on distant shores are what you expect when the empire is real, and what you must explain away when the empire is deleted.

![Gastaldi 1548 Carta Marina — Asia and America drawn as one joined landmass (mudflood / MFEE map lane)](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/mudflood/map_gastaldi_1548_carta_marina_nova_tabula.jpg)

Maps like Gastaldi’s 1548 *Carta Marina* still show America joined to Asia. The mud-flood investigation reads that continuity as withheld Horde geography, not explorer confusion. Buried facades and raised street grades in the same lane show how later soil and later stories sit on top of older cities.

Once the Horde was gone, the splinters remained: religions, tribes, mixed towns, Moor-labeled Indians, African-married Native lines, forest peoples who would not fit the new race cartoons. Successor states could treat all of them as enemies of the state for generations. That is why a U.S. signature on Red Cloud’s paper could be discarded. The other party had already been classified as something you manage, starve, remove, or use. Peer faith was never on offer.

Delaware’s legal “Moor” slot for Lenape-associated people around Cheswold in Kent County (modern Delaware, inland from Dover), the Civil War classroom’s Black/White binary, and the later forgetting of even that Moor label are late American filters on the same program. Lenape speech need not be fake; what is fake is the story that it grew in isolation after the empire fell. Without Horde erasure first, “Spanish Moors or African Moors as American Moors” hits a wall of fake isolation. With it, the wall is the redaction. The viral “Cherokee Moors” meme pastes an Oklahoma caption onto that Delaware Lenape Moor-law trail; that packaging is controlled opposition, not recovery of the erased lane.

## Gold without firing a shot

Gold is the cleanest specimen of deep-state control by redaction alone. No new army has to be invented. No bullet has to be fired from a planning desk. Erase one memory — that gold could be made — and within a few generations you get a predictable hunger: people will break treaties, soldiers will protect miners against the people those soldiers just swore to honor, and everyone without the metal can be driven, bought, or enslaved by everyone who holds it. The Black Hills betrayal is that program on American ground.

The treaties with Native nations were not written as if both sides understood that effect. The paper assumed a pause. Gold publicity assumed a stampede. Once the stampede started, even the Army became an instrument of the miners. That is paradigm shift with serious on-the-ground consequences that can be forecast in advance — because the hunger was installed upstream, in what people were taught to believe gold was.

Where did the hunger come from? When the Rus-Horde world empire was erased, memory of its ability to create gold from other elements by alchemy fell into myth. That craft is what this page calls the philosopher’s stone. Whether the stone also named a building material such as concrete is still in dispute; the load-bearing claim here is simpler. Once making gold was forgotten, gold looked rare and sacred: it could only be found, surprise, in gold mines. Those “mines” may themselves be buried golden cities in America — melted Horde work misread as ore bodies — a track already flagged in the mud-flood investigation’s gold-mine / melted-city correlation.

Successor operators charged with reasserting control over the regions knew there was gold in those hills. All they needed was a propaganda campaign to convince everyone else to betray the remaining Native nations they had signed with, and to open the most despicable chapters of American history: humans fighting and enslaving each other in a perpetual loop for gold. Redaction did the heavy lifting. The rush did the rest.

## Natives against Natives

School skips how long colonists survived by turning Native nations against each other. Early British and American forces were often terrible in forest war. They needed Native scouts, Native enemies of Native enemies, Native hands on Native villages. Disease traveled those routes. Poison, raid, and alliance were tools. *The Last of the Mohicans* is blunt about Native-on-Native violence in a colonial war, then popular culture returns to the comfort story of a single “Indian” side.

Crow, Pawnee, Apache, and other auxiliaries in later plains and southwest campaigns continue that method. So do Revolution and 1812 splits: some nations with Britain, some with the United States; Creek civil war with Cherokee and Lower Creek fighting beside Jackson in what’s now the Southeast (Alabama–Georgia country and kin). When the industrial state finally concentrated force, remaining independent fighters faced winter campaigns, ration blackmail, and railroads. Little Bighorn (southeastern Montana, 1876) was a battle. It was not a reversible civilizational win.

Before the Civil War’s mass forest-burning and total-war logistics, colonists often could not finish the job alone. They finished it with Native labor against Native targets. That is the method, not a footnote.

For the endgame of that method on screen, watch Gillo Pontecorvo’s *Burn!* (*Queimada*, 1969) with Marlon Brando. It is still one of the clearest popular pictures of colonialism as process: install a usable rebellion, harvest the island, then, when the forest still shelters what you cannot buy or break, burn the forest. Michael Caine’s Alfred says the same thing flat in *The Dark Knight* (2008), answering how they finally caught the bandit in Burma (today’s Myanmar): “We burned the forest down.” The American woodland campaigns and reservation camps are that logic at continental scale.

## Reservations were camps for war tribes

Soft speech calls reservations tragic leftovers of sickness and land loss. They functioned as concentration camps for populations the state could not process one by one: prisoners of a long war, forced into managed crowds.

Those camps were not for everyone who had lived on the land. They were for the war tribes: fighting societies that had entered the colonial military field as allies, enemies worth bargaining with, or both. Peaceful plural communities, including African-married Native lines that did not sign onto colonist wars, were not offered a reservation future. They were erased, absorbed under other labels, or driven out of the theater entirely, including north and west across the Bering Strait wreckage (Alaska / Siberia hinge) after the mud-flood era. Brotherton in what is now central New Jersey already shows confinement logic in 1758, before the mud-flood hinge around 1774. Later federal reservation law consolidates the camp system. Boarding schools and orphan trains then finish identity.

![Franklin Boors/Moors collage — complexion language and the label-confusion field](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/investigations/franklin-palatine-moors-book-quote-context-collage.png)

Benjamin Franklin’s *Observations Concerning the Increase of Mankind* (1751) shows the sorting mind without a forged Revolution quote. In the authenticated text he prefers English and Saxon stock and is explicit about excluding “Blacks and Tawneys” from the peopling he wants. That founding imagination already knows which complexions and mixtures do not belong in the new order. Plural Moor-labeled and African-married Native America sits on the wrong side of that preference. Erasing non-compliant, non-auxiliary Native worlds is policy waiting for tools.

Tribes that stayed out of the colonists’ wars did not graduate into reservation survival. They refused the colonial military field: no raids on other Native villages for European pay, no carrying colonial methods into the forest work the British and early Americans were bad at. War tribes useful enough to the colonists were allowed to remain as managed remnants. Everyone else signed onto those war tribes over time to live, before the wipe or after the mud flood when the writing was on the wall, including people in the Delaware Moor lane who had to attach to recognized Indian packaging to survive at all.

## What you visit on the reservation is not what was burned

Tourism and school kits still present reservation dance, festival, and “Great Spirit” talk as unbroken indigenous religion. Almost none of the pre-Revolution, pre–Civil War detail survived. Fire, removal, and controlled consolidation destroyed it. What remains was rebuilt under colonist oversight across the long post–mud-flood century of managing the remnant: approved ceremony that does not threaten the winners’ creed, pointed at a single great spirit rather than the old many-god detail.

That conversion is monotheistic in effect even when textbooks say “animism.” Polytheistic memory keeps named powers, local rites, and non-Christian sky history. A conquered people is offered one warrior god or Great Spirit and taught to fear the force that destroyed them. Fear of the god credited with the wipe is the most animal route into religion. Handbook “animism” is often the polite label for that reduced sacred field.

Monotheism of that kind is what you accept when you are about to be destroyed or already are. The reservation dancer is not the forest pluralist of 1750. The dancer is what colonization kept as a managed remnant after the Horde was forgotten, after Slavic imperial citizenship collapsed into the words servant and slave with new meanings. Before the American Revolution and the post–mud-flood vacuum, servant and slave could still mean a person inside a world order with petition and rights. Afterward the public memory of bondage is whips, chains, and Bible-style liberation theater. The transatlantic trade grows in that vacuum. The Bible itself is edited for the plantation: the 1807 *Select Parts of the Holy Bible for the use of the Negro Slaves in the British West-India Islands* (Caribbean plantation colonies) strips most of Exodus and other liberation texts so the enslaved will not hear their own story in Pharaoh’s Egypt. The slavers feared their monotheism would crack if Exodus stayed loud while they played Pharaoh.

## The Protestant pattern

Unhappy successors in an imperial vacuum remade law, race, land, and scripture however they wished. They lacked the humility of a unified empire. Under the old order, land-grabbing and hoarding wealth made little sense: plurality, petition, and shared imperial membership held the field. Those instincts became normal only inside the vacuum, once the world empire was gone and small successor powers could treat earth and people as private spoil. That is the original fracture of Earth’s long conflict: the Protestant turn, humans learning to protest the order that made them, like a child locked in protest against the mother that created it. Misery scales from that refusal of the original plan.

![Afterlife / Protestant Rus-Horde dossier — Reformation mockery and eastern Christianity](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/investigations/afterlife-purgatory-protestant-rus-horde-nc-investigation.png)

Fomenko’s English *How It Was* chapter on the Reformation’s Ship of Fools is the hinge most Protestants never get. Sebastian Brant’s satire and the carnival “hell wagon” were national propaganda that called the Great Empire foolish, dressed Ottomans and Hordians as Turks-pagans to banish, and trained crowds to storm the ship: take arms against the “Mongol” order and its Christian institutions. When the empire was gone, the same shows were filed as harmless folk mischief. Martin Luther, in that reconstruction, was likely still a religious reformer and a loyal subject of the empire whose name later rebels borrowed. After his death his popularity was steered. In a pastoral message from Wittenberg (today in eastern Germany) against the Schembartlauf carnival of allegedly 1539 (the procession that staged the Ship), Luther called it a particularly ungodly show expressing disregard to the Gospels and therefore undesirable to God. That is the warning later Protestants bury while citing him as mascot: do not join the mockery theater that sinks the ship. Protest that laughs eastern imperial Christianity into hell does not stay a classroom argument. It becomes permission to erase temples, peoples, and plural worlds that will not fit the new Black/White, slave/master, reservation/ward cartoons.

So the history of the instruments of colonialism themselves was left out of the taught story: burning forests, turning nations against nations, camps for the fighters who helped, approved remnant rites. The same whitewashing that erased the rest of the colonial crimes then sold a twentieth-century unified world under Britain. Almost nobody is taught how short-lived that new reality was next to the old empire, or how hard it had to run: a constant devouring and recycling of resources, including people, just to stay afloat. Red Cloud’s smoke, the war-tribe camp, the approved Great Spirit dance, and the Slave Bible with Exodus cut out are not separate scandals. They are pieces of that program.

The method was not hidden mainly so we would fear the state less. Fear of the state would have grown if the record of how it was done stayed loud. It was left out because the same playbook is aimed at the new natives — us. You cannot repeat burning the forest and also teach how the forest was burned. Our “forests” now are the industrial jungles we were allowed to live in. The actual forests that belong to us sit behind federal gates on “federal land,” forbidden and managed the way the old woodland was once managed against the people who lived there.

## Framing and limits

This article assumes [prisca sapientia](https://paradigmthreat.net/docs/PRISCA_SAPIENTIA.md): older order and knowledge were degraded or captured; later classroom consensus is not default truth.

Red Cloud’s 1866–68 military and treaty facts are ordinary public history; the glory-as-destiny frame is what this page rejects. Horde-first erasure, war-tribe-only reservation selection, colonist-authored replacement ritual, Protestant-vacuum ethics, gold hunger as control by redaction alone after alchemy memory wipe (**AU-044**), and the closing read that colonial method was whitewashed so it can be reused on the industrial population (federal land as the forbidden forest) are hard interpretive claims. Philosopher’s stone as concrete remains an open dispute; the load-bearing lock is forgotten ability to make gold. Companions for paperwork and maps: Delaware Moor / AU-043 locks, orphan-train confinement, [MFEE §5](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/mudflood/investigations/mfee-investigation.md). Franklin is cited from authenticated *Observations* (exclusion of “Blacks and Tawneys”), not circulating misquotes. The 1807 Slave Bible’s Exodus cuts are a documented missionary abridgment. Luther against the 1539 Schembartlauf / Ship carnival follows Fomenko & Nosovskiy’s English *How It Was* ([chronologia 08_21](https://chronologia.org/en/how_it_was/08_21.html); [afterlife / Protestant dossier §10](https://paradigmthreat.net/history/chronology/investigations/afterlife-purgatory-protestant-rus-horde-nc-investigation.md)). Bering-drive and total wipe of peaceful peoples are the harsh model this page argues, not a closed census. Live tribal citizenship is not adjudicated here.

On 2026-08-03, ChatGPT refused to create a hero image for this thesis when the claim package was in the thread. The refusal cited generic *content policies* ([refusal register R1](https://paradigmthreat.net/influence/censorship/llm-conclusion-refusals-register.md)). That is evidence one major LLM image path treats this conclusion package as unsafe to illustrate. The refusal does not make the history false.
