# Georgia was the Second Promised Land.

An alternate history of the Peach State

**A note before you begin.** Many Georgians will find this history challenging, maybe shocking. If you reach a point where you have had enough, close the article — no hard feelings, and no obligation to accept a word of it. I take that discomfort seriously, and I have thought about how to soften it. But there is only one lever I could actually pull: shrink the fantastic memory of this planet down into something mundane, mainstream, and easy to swallow. I can't; the memory is simply too spectacular to file away as a peach-and-parchment tourist story.

The official account says the British Province of Georgia was named in honor of **King George II** when its charter was granted in **1732**. I argue that the royal dedication was a later public explanation for a much older name, not its true origin. English already used *Georgia* for the Caucasus country whose people call their land **Sakartvelo**. The deep name — **George** — once belonged to the sky.

## Why the paper trail is thin — and why that is expected

One rule runs under everything below, so let me state it once. This history was **redacted** — edited, relabeled, and buried by powers with centuries and motive to do it. There is no surviving charter where Oglethorpe writes "named for the war-planet," no Union memo filing depleted uranium under 1864, no census counting Spanish Moors into Savannah by name. Under a redaction model those absences are expected, although absence alone does not prove redaction. The argument therefore rests on what remains: older sky myth, folk memory, family survival, documented cases of identity relabeling, and the shape of the surviving record. I am naming the rule now so the evidentiary method is clear before the claims begin.

## First promised land — natural; the Grail never returned

Before Atlantics and Trustees, the first promised land was **natural**.

When the **Golden Age** fell — the collinear polar stack broken — priests promised the people that the **Holy Grail** would be restored: the old **collinear configuration** (Saturn–Mars–Venus–Earth plasma axis / Tree of Life), the lost order the Round Table dossiers call the Grail ([Saturnian Round Table](https://paradigmthreat.net/influence/predictive_programming/fiction_encoding/white/white-saturnian-round-table-investigation.md)). That restoration **never happened**. The Grail stayed lost.

What *did* arrive was the promised land anyway — **everywhere on Earth** — when the **Sun finally came out**: the slow solar age that replaced fallen god-kings. Not a flotilla to one province. Not a deed. Daylight as deliverance. Priests had sold a return to the old sky; nature delivered a new one.

That is the **first** promised land. Georgia as the **second** means the later Atlantic refuge — 1492 flight, Moorish stream, plural transplant — nested *inside* an Earth that had already been “promised” by sunrise. ## Twin Georgias, uneven pressure

One *Georgia* sits on the Black Sea approach — contested, pressured, religiously and ethnically fraught. The other sits on the Atlantic South — presented for centuries as pluralist refuge and military buffer. I read that asymmetry as evidence of **continued sorting** after a Rus–Horde place-memory was relocated and then allowed to **reappear** where the label still had imperial weight. Coincidence of English orthography alone does not explain why the same name attaches to two historically charged polities. The Hanover stack is its own fork. Conventional account: colony for **George II**; Revolution under **George III**. New Chronology’s two-king problem — eastern usurper versus false British breakaway George — sits underneath those British dedications. The older Caucasus *Georgia* cannot derive from the 1732 charter; in this model it preserves the prior name that the royal dedication later covered. What that deep name meant, I save for later because it is the largest claim in this article.

## 1492 — both sides fled; Georgia took the Moors’ stream

The **second** promised land has a specific meaning here. It comes *after* the natural first (§ above): Earth already living under the Sun when Atlantic refugees still needed a place. I am naming where that spirit **settled hardest**.

Those founding principles did **not** make it into the Declaration or the federal Constitution as civic religion prints them. They made it into **constitutions** — charters, Trustee codes, state founding habit — and into the **true nature** of what Americans would be.

Simply put: the 1492 invasion was not one side fleeing while the other chased. **Both sides fled.**

The Ottoman thrust slaughtered the sick and everything under purification ideology across Europe. The shipbuilders we now call **Spanish** were not conscripted into that inland genocide. They intermarried across Judaism, Christianity, and Moorish streams. Spanish Moors did not have to go to America. Many **chose** to — and to shift **slave culture** toward a more **indentured** culture in the New World.

I make no apology for 1492. The people who boarded those ships were **right to leave**. They carried their faith and their crafts out of a burning continent, and the empire’s yoke — the Requirement, the Doctrine of Discovery, later plantation law — was stamped on *afterward*, not chosen at the dock. Flight was agency, not guilt. The conventional account emphasizes discovery and conquest; this account adds the escape that both sides were making at once.

Note the **spread**. The Atlantic landing was not even. Affinity sorted the streams. **Georgia is where the most Spanish Moors went.** That implies a **family connection** — kin and craft lines concentrating here rather than scattering uniformly across the colonies. Trustee pluralism and Savannah’s multi-sect founding did not invent that mentality out of philanthropy alone. They echoed who arrived.

The label would not survive cleanly if the story is true. A people can remain while the public name is rewritten. The open question is concentration — **how many**, under which later labels — not whether the archive can erase the Moorish name.

Georgia’s history captures the spirit, mentality, and plurality of that decision to flee better than any other state history. We kept the culture going better. In my opinion we still enjoy more freedom and agency than many other states, and especially other countries.

Savannah provides the local evidence before the theory becomes more speculative. In **1733**, the **William and Sarah** brought one of colonial North America’s largest Jewish settler groups into the new Georgia colony; the core was **Spanish-Portuguese / Sephardic**. Savannah became a haven for them almost immediately. Then the War of Jenkins’ Ear exposed what the haven meant: if Spain captured Georgia, Sephardic Jews feared Inquisition punishment as apostates, so many fled toward Charleston and New York in the 1740s. That is the pattern in miniature — Spanish-Portuguese exiles accepted in Savannah, then driven out by the returning Spanish threat. Whether every hidden family line is Jewish, Moorish, converso, or some blended Iberian stream is exactly the redaction question. The documented fact is that Savannah accepted this exile stream from the colony’s beginning.

## How Georgia kept the culture

Against Spanish Florida and British plantation consolidation, early Georgia ran the **Trustee experiment**: charity settlers, Sephardic Jews, Salzburgers, Highland Scots, multi-sect city, temporary ban on slavery — a constitution of practice before the royal colony and chattel overwrite. Later Savannah Jewish life was woven deeply into the city’s wider family fabric; the cemetery/intermarriage trail needs its own pass, but the direction is visible. Forests tell their own fight: Britain had Desmond-scale scorched desolation and colonial girdle-and-burn; Georgia’s founding was a relative exception, not innocence. The Union cut timber for war and burned a hinterland corridor; Savannah itself came through Christmas 1864 largely intact. Hollywood later rented the pluralist surface. The **Guidestones** planted an anonymous planetary rule-sheet in granite until they were destroyed. These circumstances form a contested design that never fully died.

## George was Mars — whitewashed, then split into romance

Now the deep name. This is the article’s largest interpretive claim, placed after the documented Georgia history that supports the broader pattern.

**George = Mars** was heavily whitewashed. Velikovsky provides no glossary line; he files Mars under Ares, Hercules, Nergal, Gabriel, and puts Michael on Venus. St. George appears only fighting the dragon. Cardona provides no explicit identification either. Herschel even hung the name **Georgium Sidus** on the wrong planet — it became Uranus. The resulting documentary gap is consistent with a redacted name, but the positive argument comes from the surviving story pattern below.

The argument instead begins with the catastrophist premise that the old tales were **sky myths** — gods, dragons, maidens, and warriors were what people watched when planets and cometary forms filled the sky. Take the familiar **St. George story**. A dragon terrorizes a land and threatens a princess; a warrior rides out, kills it, order returns. That is Perseus and Andromeda, Horus and the serpent, Hercules against the chaos monster, and many folk parallels. The dragon/serpent is the Venus trauma form; the maiden is its threatened face; the **warrior who restores** is the red war star the ancients already named **Mars**. Classical peoples kept calling that body Mars. The Christian West kept calling the warrior **George** and forgot the planet. So **George fills the Mars slot** — the first knight and first king in one figure, Dark Ages martial order after the dragon war.

The name preserves the deliberate drift. English **George** becomes Spanish **Jorge**, pronounced roughly *Hor-heh*, making the George/Horus connection audible. **Horus / Horos / Heru** then sits beside **Maurus / Mauros**, **Moor**, archaic Latin **Mavors**, and **Mars**. Different cultures kept, softened, added, or dropped sounds while preserving the body and function of the name.


The fall of the empire broke the shared pronunciation system. Books survived after the people who knew how to read their names aloud had been scattered or killed. Later translators found consonantal and damaged texts and supplied pronunciations that often belonged to their own language and politics. Ordinary people continued speaking regional slang, accents, and inherited versions of the old names. Those folk forms are not corrupt leftovers; they may preserve the spoken continuity that official translation lost. I apply that cultural-pronunciation rule here. The harmless Greek “earth-worker” or farmer gloss is the later demotion of an important Mars name, not its origin.

## Why Mars remained in memory

Why did Mars become the durable popular figure? **It stuck around longer.** After Jupiter’s rule broke and Venus moved toward her final orbit, Mars kept returning close to Earth — nine encounters across 119 years on this chronology before its final departure around 686–685 BCE. That late, repeated spectacle had time to harden the warrior role into social practice. **Rus–Horde knighthood is Mars memory institutionalized**: George as mounted protector, war-khan, restorer of order.

America kept the same memory on its own. Ev Cochrane, quoting James R. Murie’s *Ceremonies of the Pawnee*, records the Skiri (Skidi) creator pair as **cupiritta-ka = Venus** and the warrior **u-pirikucu = Mars** — “through this star and Morning Star all things were created.” Native peoples still practiced planetary religion of that rank before conquest and collapse; the Mars-warrior was not a late European literary export.

The rest is slicing. The Round Table has already been mapped in the linked notes, and I add one layer: the older unitary George/Mars knight-king was split into a crowded bookshelf — **Lancelot** carries the good warrior (still Mars), while Arthur and Merlin stay Jupiter faces and Guinevere/Morgan split Venus. This is not Jung. I do not explain the repeated warrior, dragon, king, and witch through a collective unconscious. The recurring roles are intelligent eyewitness memory of a changed sky; **archetype** here is only shorthand for a repeated slot.

## Savannah, the advanced weapon, and the land-intact deal

My theory of how the Civil War was decided at Georgia: Savannah holds a clue that an **advanced weapon** — sold publicly as some kind of rifle or cannon projectile — started or turned the war. That story may be the cover for **depleted uranium** already in play. I put extremely high confidence on DU existing then. Georgians ended their war rather than lose the land to that devastating device. Keeping the land intact was part of the deal. Otherwise this state should have held out longer than anyone — swamp, climate, deep pluralist culture.

Here is where the opening rule applies again. If a dense super-projectile existed in the 1860s, its material, manufacture, and radiation effects would be likely candidates for classification; an ordinary ordnance file would therefore be unlikely to confirm it. A deniable disclosure could instead survive as fiction. That is why I read Jules Verne’s *From the Earth to the Moon* (**1865**) as **redacted fact**, not merely a novel. A gun club fresh off a great war, fixated on an irresistible new projectile and the precise engineering of firing it, published the very year the American war ends — that is the proposed disclosure. Fort Pulaski’s rifled guns cracking brick is the best-documented public “miracle” at the coast; whether that is the local cover clue is still open.
